Why Justin Bieber has no choice but to bang hookers

By James Cook

Revelations about Justin Bieber’s reported involvement with prostitutes have left some people puzzled. Why does Bieber, the multimillionaire teen with a vast legion of adoring female fans, need to  pay South American prostitutes to have sex with him? But an examination of Bieber’s bizarre personal life and the pressures of fame reveal that his alleged dalliance with sex workers isn’t as surprising as you might think.

It all began with what many instantly discounted as rumour: a prostitute making graphic claims about a night of paid for-passion with Justin Bieber.

Panamanian newspaper Cronicas ran an interview with an unnamed prostitute who claimed to have been paid $500 for an hour of sex with Bieber. Her extravagant claims to have performed “all the positions” with the teen singer seemed unreal, and her story was largely discounted by the media.

Gawker went with the headline, “Did Justin Bieber Have Amazing Sex With A Panamanian Prostitute?” and began their report, “Probably not.”

And the reports of Bieber sleeping with prostitutes would likely have remained doubtful speculation if it weren’t for a slip of a bed sheet and some trademark sneakers.

A team of photographers were tipped off that Justin Bieber was spending three hours in the VIP area of the giant Centauros brothel in Rio de Janeiro. Bieber’s security team attempted to smuggle him out inside a branded bed sheet, spraying water at photographers who tried to take snaps of the Canadian singer.

Despite the camouflage efforts, Bieber’s distinctive tattoo on the inside of his left wrist was visible, along with his sneakers.

Unlike previous scandals where Bieber and his spokesman have been quick to comment, no denial or word has emerged from Bieber’s camp over the latest prostitution scandal. With no official response, the media has scrambled to find out more about exactly what Bieber did inside the South American brothel.

A prostitute named Rosa has revealed some of what went on inside. “Justin was very excited and was loving the attention we were giving him. He announced that he wanted to take all eight of us who were in the VIP area with him back to his hotel.

“One of his bodyguards was actually drooling at the thought. But when he found out how much it would cost he looked furious, then went into a sulk.”

As Bieber sped away from the brothel in one car, another SUV followed, with two young women in the back. Rosa claimed that instead of paying around £11,200 for all the girls, he settled on two for £1,200. A photograph of the second car appears to corroborate that claim.

So here’s the question that has been puzzling the world since these allegations emerged: Why is Justin Bieber paying prostitutes to have sex with him? Surely he could have practically any girl he wanted? The answer is: not really, no.

The dotted line

In order to spend time with Justin Bieber, you need to sign a contract. TMZ managed to obtain a sample of one issued to guests at one of his house parties in California. Any tweets or Instagram photos sent from inside the party would mean an instant $5 million lawsuit.

These contracts are still in effect and apply to not just his home in California but wherever he is while on tour. The rented villa in Rio de Janeiro where Bieber is currently staying has the same policy. An 18-year-old student, Marina Binimeliz, explained her experience.

“We all had to sign contracts saying we wouldn’t take any photographs and if we did we agreed not to publish them. I was only given my phone back when I left. I tried to take a picture of the contract but they whipped the phone out of my hand before I could do so.”

So, in order to spend any time with Bieber away from the cameras, you need to enter a legally binding contract. It is, in essence, a business transaction. Sign away your rights to share what happens and you can be in the same room as him. And what kind of person is well versed in mixing personal, hidden moments with business transactions? Prostitutes.

Imagine, for a moment, that you’re the media representative in charge of  Bieber’s South American tour. You receive word from his assistant that Justin wants to have sex and he wants it now. What do you do? Do you take the elevator downstairs and select a willing fan from the hundreds that camp out outside his hotel balcony?

Remember, it’s dangerous. For this fan, private time with Bieber will be the most remarkable thing ever to happen to them. They’re going to want to share it. No contract will keep them silent. But there is another way: you can fetch a prostitute. They’ll cost money, but the chance of them speaking to the press is far lower – after all, they have sex with foreigners every day of the week. That’s their job.

Difficult demographics

That’s not the only reason Bieber may be choosing to sleep with prostitutes. While there’s no official analysis of Bieber’s concert ticket sales, it’s safe to assume that the majority of attendees are underage females. Bieber’s fan demographics are revealed by ticket sales for his concert movie Never Say Never. An overwhelming 84 percent of the audience was female, and 67 percent of tickets sold were to customers under the age of 25.

Now imagine if you had chosen to pick up one of the female fans outside the hotel for Bieber. What would happen if the morning after, she tweeted about her night of passion? What if an Instagram photo leaked? What if an account of what went on was posted on Tumblr? Suddenly Bieber is a musician who has sex with his female fans.

With the majority of them under the age of consent, it’s going to be a PR disaster for the 19-year-old singer. Concert ticket sales will plummet as parents will stop their children from attending. Book, DVD and album sales will collapse as parents will attempt to guide their young ones toward a different, less threatening pop star.

We’ve seen just how damaging a sex scandal might be. In November 2011, Mariah Yeater, a 20-year-old American woman, claimed that  Bieber was the father of her three-month-old child. According to Yeater, she had become pregnant after having sex with Bieber in a bathroom backstage at one of his concerts.

After she publicly filed a lawsuit accusing Bieber of fathering her child, his people worked hard to discredit her. Bieber even used his most effective PR machine, his Twitter account, to taunt her.

After Bieber submitted a DNA test that proved he was not the father of the child, the case was thrown out of court. But it was a chilling reminder for the young singer and his managers that he is vulnerable to career-damaging accusations. If Bieber is known to be sleeping with fans, the fall-out would be disastrous.

But prostitutes? Well, they’re far enough removed from his fan base that Bieber can deny their claims outright. And in fact it’s not remotely such a damaging story as getting a fan pregnant, is it?

Fuck me I’m famous

More evidence of Bieber’s carefully stage-managed love life can be seen in his relationships. Remember, if Bieber is known to be having sex with fans, his career will suffer. So let’s take a look at all of Bieber’s known girlfriends.

  • Caitlin Beadles, the sister of his best friend (2007-2008)
  • Kristen Rodeheaver, actress (June 2009)
  • Jasmine Villegas, musician (July 2010-November 2010)
  • Emma Watson, actress (August 2010)
  • Selena Gomez, actress and musician (January 2011-November 2012)
  • Barbara Palvin, model and actress (November 2012-December 2013)
  • Ella-Paige Roberts Clarke, model and musician (February 2013)
  • Jacque Rae Pyles, actress and musician (September 2013-present)

A glance through the list above shows that since  Bieber was discovered by Scooter Braun in 2008, he has only been in relationships with people who were famous for reasons other than their association with him. None of the girls in the list above are “fans” of Bieber. Sure, they might be fellow musicians appreciative of his work, but they don’t stand in line with other girls waiting to buy tickets for his concert movie.

It’s easy to be shocked at the former pop starlet Justin Bieber raiding South American brothels for discount hookers, but it’s actually not surprising at all. A tight-lipped prostitute will be seen as a worthy investment when compared with an excitable and unreliable, fan.

To put it another way, the world of yes men, mega-stadiums and paparazzi fights has resulted in a strange dynamic: In order for Justin Bieber to avoid controversy, he has to have sex with prostitutes.
